
At an elevation of over 2,000 feet in the Santa Monica Mountains, you will find the Malibu Rocky Oaks Estate Vineyards. With a combination of warm days and cool nights, along with regional volcanic soil, we produce intense wines through a multitude of perfect ripening conditions.
With its scenic windy road, expansive Tuscan villa, and award-winning wine, Malibu Rocky Oaks Estate Vineyards has truly left its mark as the elite wine estate of Malibu.


Founded in 2003, Malibu Rocky Oaks Estate Vineyards consists of 10 planted acres on a 37-acre plot with even more vines being planted today. Hand picked and meticulously maintained by a team of professionals and guided by notable Malibu winegrower Tobias and Sons, the vineyard is evolving into one of the most awarded in the region.
With unique rolling hillsides allowing abundant sunshine to reach every strategically placed varietal on the estate and a combination of warm days, cool night breezes from the Pacific Ocean and Conejo volcanic regional soil, we take advantage of outstanding growing conditions. Generally we target the harvest at four tons per acre with most of the varietals and allow the Syrah block to produce closer to five tons per acre due to its rapid growth. Because of our location and new local government rules, Malibu Rocky Oaks vineyard, estate and style of wine can never be replicated.

Malibu Rocky Oaks wines are from our Healdsburg, CA winery in the middle of three of the most important wine-producing regions (the Russian River, Dry Creek, and Alexander Valley AVAs). We do not hold public wine tastings just yet, but are open to private events. Contact us for details!
From the hillsides of Malibu, our famous estate-grown Chablis-style, stainless steel Chardonnay is a classy example of what people love. Medium bodied and elegant, our 2010 Chardonnay has an exceptionally long finish due to its balanced acidity and restrained fruit. Delicious on its own or with a food marriage, it amplifies seafood like shrimp, crab, or lobster while cutting through the richness of sauces.
Our Chardonnay Reserve is the creamy and buttery, oak-barreled version of our famous Chardonnay. Full bodied with a nose of tropical fruits and vanilla crème brûlée, combined with perfect acidity, give it a long, smooth finish. Enjoy on its own or paired with seafood like shrimp, crab or lobster as it cuts through the richness of cream sauces.
Coming August 2013, this big red blend strikes gold with our Estates ripest treasures hidden among the vines. Right now this wine is being vinted to perfection in our winery in Healdsburg, California under the watchful eye of our winemaker and owner of Howard Leight of Malibu Rocky Oaks. Details to come!
Our 2011 Cabernet Reserve is everything that Malibu Rocky Oaks is famous for. A hand selected blend from the best growing Cabernet, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Syrah blocks that we have to offer, the reserve is a well balanced, complex and elegant wine. With its jammy nose and vanilla from 18mo of aging with French oak barrels, full bodied,and perfect acidity, this wine evolves flawlessly. The reserve is one of our most limited and best wine we have made to date.

Our Cabernet Fanc is similar to Cabernet Sauvignon but somewhat lighter in style. The nose will give you a subtle hint of dried flowers and spiciness. On the palate it is medium to full bodied with a lovely sweet fruitiness that, combined with perfect acidity, evolves into an elegant finish. Serve with chicken, veal, or pork chops.
One of our signature wines, this Merlot has hints of dark berries like plum and red currant on the nose. On the palate, a rush of flavors makes it fruit forward, medium bodied, soft and fleshy with instant appeal. Pairs with grilled meats and barbequed salmon.
From our California blend, medium body, velvety mouthfeel, bracing acidity (food wine)... I had it with some beef and noodles and they worked well together. Good fruit (raspberries), excellent acidity and a true crowd pleaser with its delicate, restrained profile. This wine is a perfect accompaniment to both fish and fowl.
Born from the sunny south facing slopes of the Estate, year after year our award winning Cabernet Sauvignon continues to be a crowd pleaser. The initial impression is one of intense fruits like raspberries and blackberries, developing into a complex, layered wine thanks to the influence of new French oak barreling. Finely integrated tannins produce a long, smooth finish. Paired with grilled steaks or rack of lamb, our Cabernet Sauvignon always makes a classic food and wine marriage.
Deep and colorful, with a medium to full body while revealing intense black cherry fruit in its attack. The mid palate evolves with deep layers of flavor, thanks to its juicy acidity which creates a lovely, lengthy finish. This easy-drinking wine will accompany both delicate fish and fowl nicely.
The Red Leight rosé has a dark crimson color with intense red fruit aromatics of rasberries and cranberries, along with a sweet hint of vanilla. Medium to full bodied with juicy acidity making it perfect for cocktail celebrations as well as with lighter dinner fare like chicken, veal or pork.

A beautifully balanced, medium bodied, and crisp wine. Opens with a nose of refreshing essence of strawberry and cream cherry. The mid-palate dances with a tantalizing combination of bright citrus, peach and apricot. The perfect acidity allows for unlimited food pairing possibilities, including salmon with a white ginger reduction and spicy chicken satay. Our Syrah consistently wins medals because of it intense rush of black fruits reminiscent of blackberries and blueberries. The nose has hints of black pepper, mint and eucalypytus. On the palate you immediately experience intensely fruity flavors with full body and perfectly balanced acidity. Pair with game birds and grilled steak.
Dark fruits like black currant (cassis) and blackberries emanate from the glass. The initial impression is one of intense fruit, developing into a complex, layered wine thanks to the long, smooth finish. Pairs well with grilled steaks or rack of lamb.
This 2008 Syrah is a limited production work of flavorful art. It is quickly becoming a favorite for its deep blue-violet color and uplifting flavor.
TASTING NOTES: The 2008 Syrah is about opulence! This is a wine with a powerful attack that evolves into a blockbuster of a wine. Extremely full bodied on the palate with just the right amount of acidity to keep the flavors racing. Matured in 100% new French Oak gives lovely vanilla overtones allowing it to evolve into one of our very best Syrah's ever. Pair this wine with rich foods as well as grilled ribs. Its flavors are bold and will support the richest of caramelized barbeque sauces.

This intense red blend features Bordeaux varietals in an elegant and balanced style. Its explosion of fruit on the palate make it an approachable wine for all wine enthusiasts alike.
TASTING NOTES: Complex nose combining notes of blackberries, black currents, mushrooms and toasty oak. Here is a Bordeaux style Meritage wine that is restrained and delicate in its attack. It is medium bodied (only 14.1%). There are layers of complexity due to its blend of 65.4 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 17.3% Cabernet Franc and 17.3% Merlot. Lively acidity allows the fruit to shine through. A slight tannic grip makes it the perfect foil for fatty meats like prime steaks, duck and especially rack of lamb.
TASTING NOTES: The nose is full of jammy black fruits (black cherries, black berries) along with a hint of vanilla from 18 months of French Oak. On the palate it is full bodied with opulent, fleshy fruit that, thanks to its perfect acidity evolves elegantly into a long finish. Full flavored and complex, owing to the blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, and 11% Cabernet Franc and 1% Syrah. Its firm tannic backbone gives it age worthiness for cellaring another 3-5 years. This powerful blend will hold up to the most full flavored meats and sauces, barbequed ribs and sausages.
This 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon was our first bottling from the estate. Not only winning a tri-medal award at the Lodi International Wine Awards, it's our most special limited production wine that is ready to drink now or to be stored in your cellar as a collectable.
TASTING NOTES: lovely floral nose with a hint of violets and blackberries. Medium bodied with ample fruit component that is driven by lively acidity. Flavors evolve gracefully and finish with just the right touch of French Oak which adds roundness to the overall mouth feel. It drinks well now and is ideally suited for prime meats with rich sauces.
